Gina Edwards, an expert on nail shape trends, predicts almond-shaped nails as being especially fashionable in 2025 due to their softly tapered tips and rounded edges.

Britney Tokyo, a 3D nail artist, favors diminutive dots that feel both playful and contemporary for her clients’ nails. She says the trend translates well to fall, when rich brown hues and mysterious aura orbs appear as part of its palette.

Almond Shaped Nails

Almond-shaped nails are a favorite among manicurists for both their style and practicality. Their gentle tapered tip elongates each nail, making it flattering on all hand shapes while being easy to style with any color or design.

Bachik has observed the rising popularity of soap nails this year and forecasts they’ll remain fashionable well into 2025. He describes them as an aesthetic trend that features minimal polish on an unpolished base to let their natural shape stand out.

Fall nails will feature moody and dimensional styles this year, according to 3D nail artist Britney Tokyo who has worked with celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner. Expect metallic finishes, frosted cat-eyes, and minimalist dots in her designs.

Jelly Texture Nails

Between milk manicure and donut nail art, jelly nails offer a simple yet striking way to elevate your summer style. Simply dilute your favorite polish with clear gel, then decorate your nail bed with stars or dots in various sizes – an effective way to elevate any summer outfit!

Britney Tokyo (known for working with Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa among others) advises incorporating one or two small, well-placed silver stars, or adding contrasting polka dots on each finger as playful yet minimal designs. “These styles will keep their charm while remaining presentable.”

Aura nails are another captivating trend that captures our imagination with their shimmering hues and holographic finishes, designed to replicate an aura.

Velvet Nails

Velvet is everywhere this year–from leggings and dresses to couches and chairs–and the luxurious fabric has even made its way onto nails! A new trend known as velvet nails features shimmering polishes designed to mimic the soft finish of velvet fabric, Edwards says she has seen this style in various hues like blush pinks to lavenders but her favorite shade was “milk bath”, as it felt dreamy and ethereal.

Edwards also predicts that metallic velvet manicures will become trendy next year. You can achieve this effect using magnetic polish and magnets found online or at nail salons; simply drag one over your wet polish to create designs.

Thin French Manicures

Thin French manicures (sometimes referred to as “micro French tips”) offer an intriguing new take on classic nail design, featuring thin lines of white polish on each nail tip and finished off with a top coat for extra shine and longevity.

Celebrities frequently opt for minimalist nail designs because of their ease in pairing with professional outfits or business looks. Furthermore, its barely-there tip line elongates nails visually for longer nails.

For this trend, your nail technician begins by applying a base coat to even out and prevent staining of your nails before painting on your desired sheer polish with an ultra-fine brush to create an ultra-slim smile line before sealing in that sleek line using top coat.

Milky White Nails

Nail technicians can create this minimalist look with a chrome powder finish over milky white polish for an elegant manicure that suits any special event.

If you want a feminine touch, try adding some pink to your milky look by applying soft, pale blush or lipstick-inspired hue. Or for an updated approach, layer thin gold lines on top for some added shimmer on your nails.

Nail art has emerged as a major trend this fall, with intricate designs like iridescent blots or diminutive dots adding visual depth and dimension to your look. 3D nail artist Britney Tokyo often adds silver stars onto a simple milky pink manicure for an aura design – something Britney herself often does when creating designs on her nails!

Iridescent Nails

Iridescent nails add an otherworldly finish to any look, from playful to sophisticated. For best results, choose a light to neutral base color with modest undertones that produces shimmery glaze effects for shimmery shine. A metallic topcoat further elevates this effect.

Ganzorigt adores a blue-green chrome manicure that resembles the shells found on seashores, while nail artist Yoko Sakakura recommends adding small decals like stars and flowers for an editorial aesthetic.

Metallics will become even more fashionable by 2025 with multiple effects and textures being combined together. Britney Tokyo, an experienced 3D nail artist who has worked with Hailey Bieber and Steph Stone among many others, suggests adding dots of various sizes for an innovative finish on sheer or bare polish to give an updated look.
