Poly Gel Manicure
Polygel is an innovative nail enhancement formula that marries the benefits of acrylic nails with those of gel polishes, providing durability while remaining flexible and adaptable. Applied directly onto natural or artificial nails or on tips, Polygel cures under UV light for immediate results.
At a Poly gel Manicure, nails are first prepared and polished before receiving a pea-sized amount of Polygel applied with an acrylic brush dipped in Polygel slip solution for shaping. Finally, another brush soaked with this solution is then used to sculpt nails to the desired length and shape.
Easy to apply
Like gel or acrylic nails, polygel nails can be easily applied and shaped into the desired length, shape and color by simply brushing on and shaping with a tool. And as it doesn’t set until cured, your nail technician can take their time crafting an inconspicuous yet natural-looking manicure that will last.
Your nail tech will use a product kit that includes base coat, polygel nail gel, liquid slip solution and clean-up solution, dual form (a tool with one end featuring a brush for application of product and another end featuring a flat spatula for division), curing lamp and lint-free wipes soaked with slip solution to prepare natural nails before beginning working with polygel products.
Once your natural nails have been prepared, a professional will use a mold to sculpt the new shape of your nail using Polygel Manicure. They then apply top coat and your preferred finish before curing under an ultraviolet lamp to seal them in and dry them off.
Long-lasting
Polygel nail polish/enhancements offer an alternative solution that’s easier than traditional acrylics to apply and remove, boasting both durability and flexibility. Available in various colors and finishes, Polygel can be brushed onto nails like polish before curing under LED or UV lights – and is said to cause less damage than traditional acrylics.
Once they’ve applied a base coat, your nail technician will apply a small dab of Polygel to each nail and use a brush dipped in slip solution – an additive designed to make the product easier to form – to shape it into desired nail sizes and shapes. They then cure these nails for an appropriate period of time depending on which brand of Polygel you select.
Polygels are easy to apply, flexible, long-wearing and odorless – an added advantage if you want a manicure that lasts. Furthermore, they require no frequent touch ups or reapplication, saving time and money!
No damage to natural nails
Polygel nail enhancement products can be safely applied and removed by trained professionals without causing damage to natural nails. Application takes a slightly different approach from other nail products, however: First, technicians should ensure natural nails are free from polish and filed to a fine grit to reduce shine; next they’ll apply a thin layer of Polygel product starting with one small bead in the center for every fingernail.
Polygel manicures can last up to three weeks before needing refilling; unlike acrylics, Polygel doesn’t require mixing monomers and has an easy putty-like consistency that makes application and removal a simple process; additionally, no residue remains behind when wiping it away!
Easy to remove
Polygel nails, commonly referred to as Acrygel, offer both durability and flexibility in an application process similar to gel nail polish application. Furthermore, Polygel offers much lighter scent than acrylics while being easily removable by file or using a lint-free wipe soaked in acetone for removal.
Poly gel manicures last longer than most nail enhancements, yet still require regular maintenance. At each fill-in session, a small amount of Polygel will be added near the cuticle in order to cover new nail growth.
Yi suggests using cuticle oil twice daily to rehydrate nails at home and refraining from picking at them, which could cause them to weaken and peel. She recommends visiting a professional nail technician regularly for fill-ins and removals to minimize potential damage.
